Pelkie, Michigan

Pelkie is located two miles north of M-38 between Baraga and Alston.  It was first settled by French Canadian woodsmen about 1885.  First known as King's Landing, it was soon renamed Pelkie, after an early settler.  A station on the Michigan Central Railroad. Theodore Duquette became its first postmaster on April 30, 1903.
